Hello, what a great site !!

I am a semi retired tech. who found this site very recently. I have been very impressed with the responsible answers to ?. I do not chime in if I do not have knowledge or access to answers. in my collection of parts and service manuals. dating from 1940 to 2000. Mostly John/Rude, OMC SD, and Mercruiser SD. I very much appreciate the absolute adherance to safety. and common sense. I do have a lot of old parts in my shed, and special tools. I am trying to put an inventory together but time does not allow at this time. If I am able to assist anyone please feel free to get in touch with me. I am however going to be out of town frequently, as I also am a licensed Capt.. Hope to talk to many of you soonly and help you with whatever I can. Good sailing Bill

What a great ego I have, posting to my own thread. Just want to add how much I admire those that have the patience of JOB to answer the same ?s day after day. Reminds me of the parts counter, I always delighted in helping someone solve their problem. Perhaps this place will allow me to do that again. Thank you

A BIG WELCOME you're way. You should be a big asset to the group. I'm sure that our "super techs" will welcome your depth. Many of us driveway guys would like to help at times but recognize our limits and hesitate to offer wild guesses.

Welcome, you're right, it is a great site. What I like the most is you have a chance to use the knowledge you have in your head and also be challenged by others people who might not the same background. Each time I learn something new and sometime I find there are better ways to do things and better product to do them with. Plus each part of the iboat world does thing a little different.

Thanks for the welcome. QC I am currently working as a relief 1st mate on 165, & 220' small cruise ships. We sail up and down the ICW on the East coast.
