I know you'll have to put in a bunch of money to make it a reliable source of entertainment. Its a 37 year old boat!!!!

I do agree...Funky. It would have to be in great condition. Parts for the old ford/volvo setups are rare, however those Old Glastrons branded their own motors, I think they used aftermarket manifolds that are still available...Just guessing...

go take some pics and post them. we love pics.

Parts are available for the drive, that's not a problem. You problem is going to be the engine. Glastron bought outdrives and transom shields from Volvo and marinized the engines themselves. Volvo has almost no marine accessories (manifolds, carbs, distributors, wiring harnesses, raw water pumps etc.) for those engines. Glastron has even less. You can probably find aftermarket parts and used parts to keep it going, but you need to be aware that it might not be easy on some things.
The good news is that in your area, it was never in salt water. Which is a huge help.

Re: help??? 1975 glastron vagabond camper

The Ford parts aren't the problem, it's the marine specific parts (I listed a few above) that are not Ford automotive, and some are specific to the marinizer. In this case Glastron.
When the marinizer (Glastron, Volvo, Mercruiser, OMC, etc.) gets the engine, it's basically nothing more that a long block. All the other stuff is made or purchaced by the marinizer.

If the pictures are of the engine and drive to aid in repair and ID, this is the forum. If it's just boat pictures to show your boat, then the Boat Topics and Questions (not engine topics) forum would be where you need to post those.

If you are going to do a restoration thread, the Restoration forum would be your best place, then you could update with details on what you are doing and how you did it. Plus get suggestions.
