Parrisw most people who have their motor extremely low in the water are those who error on the side of caution,( quite acceptable).Run your boat as you wish,or until you feel comfortable, you can always raise the motor up if you have a need for more speed.

Thanks. it seemed to help in the turn with the lower motor, maybe a little. Prop still cavatates on hard turns. Its does 40mph as it is now, which is plenty fast enough for the wife and kids, I never go that fast towing a tube or anything.

Was out today again for a few hours, had my brother and sister-inlaw out today with their 3 kids, my 2 kids, my parents, and the wife's parents, allot of fun was had by all, and between yesterday and today it only burned about $40 worth of gas, not too bad, some good fun.
Here's a bunch of information on OMC boats.................

Oh forgot to add, I took the pin out, and I couldn't tell any difference. I don't think it really allows much more down trim.

Well, after using it for a few more days. I feel it needs more bow down trim, with the motor all the way down it doesn't go level with the bottom of the hull, so I think I need the wedge plates, I saw some thinner ones at the marine place when I was there last. Maybe I'll try those.

Yep ,I can belive its needs more `down trim. What is the measurement from where the eng sits on the transome to the bottom of the hull, the very center. As I mentioned,my thought is you have a 20 in shaft eng.on a 15 in transome boat, from there ,I also think it could be overpowered. The outboards in the mid sixties for 40-50 60 hp were built for 15 inch transoms, you have a v4 with trim and tilt, thats some weight, add to that ,fuel tanks and pulling skiers.I think I have a better understanding of why it was configure with those big wedges AND the hight was where it was. When you get a chance ,measure the transom .

I'll measure when I get back in a week or so. I don't think its that overpowered, I think they originally came with 90hp.
