Help Another Tach question !!!!

Hello, And thanks in advance. I have a 1993 bass tracker tx-17 bass boat with a johnson tracker 40hp motor also 1993. The tach doesnt seem to be showing accurate to me so I checked the setting on it and it is set to 10p. I thought it was suppose to be 6p for a 12 pole. My tach only has 4p,8p,10p and 12p setting on the back of it. Im not sure who makes the tach either.

I am going to stick my neck w-a--a-a-a--y out and say that 10 poles/5pulses is probably correct. The chart I just posted only goes to 1989, but I suspect it is the same. But I've been wrong before.
