Hi guys,
So I am new to the forum and have recently acquired a boat. The boat is an older starcraft with a 80hp mercruiser engine. The boat was in the garage of my grandparents summer house up in the Adirondacks. It has not been touched in about 20-30 years, and the last registration on the trailer says 1979.

I was hoping that someone here might be able to tell me what kind of boat it is (i.e. model or year). The motor says mercruiser 80hp and the boat looks a lot like this one I found on google images, except it is an i/o:

I believe the boat is a late 60's model as it has a complimentary coast guard inspection on the windshield dated 1971. If anyone has any info on this it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advanced
Chris

Chris Welcome to iboats!

I have never heard of a 80hp mercruiser..... but Starcraft builds a great boat! I do know they used 110 hp inboard/outboards or does it have an 80 hp outboard?

Here is a owners web site and North Beach posted a brochure in the gallery there http://www.forums.starcraftowners.com/

We have many Starcraft restorations going on here http://forums.iboats.com/forumdisplay.php?f=22

Is the boat aluminum or fiberglass? Regardless they do have a great following here. Here is a thread to look at http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=298301&highlight=north+beach

The hull is definitely aluminum and looks a lot like the boat in this thread:

The only difference is that the windsheild on my boat is one curved piece with a small rectangular vent in the bottom. Also my boat only has seats in the front (no rear seats next to the motor). It is definitely an i/o motor as well. I am headed up there this weekend and will try to take a few pictures of it.
