I bought a Wellcraft runabout and the previous owner had just put new
upholstery in it and the sun faded it and cracked it in just two summers.
Now I want to reupholster everything so what should I use

Re: Help choosing vinyl

It's called Marine Vinyl. Any decent upholstery supplier will have it. One key quality indicator is the "cold crack temperature" The lower the better. Use polyester thread, not nylon.

Lots of U-Tube stuff out there showing DYI on this.

Re: Help choosing vinyl

I just bought marine grade sumbrella from ebay for my cabin upholstery project. It was much cheaper than other retailers. They also sell marine grade vinyl.

Not all marine vinyl is created equal. i bought and used some from Joann fabric on a mini restore we did and it looks great but if you scuff it with anything hard it tears. and i don't mean any thing extreme. if fact my sewing machine tore it multiple times. I just got some samples of seaquest in the mail and it is much more durable. It also feels like it will clean better.
