Hey guys, i have narrowed my search to a 19'er as i cannot space anything bigger.. i know there are several people out there against these boats but i have never had an issue with them first hand.. These are the two i am very serious about purchasing (this weekend hopefully) and after a survey. The 09 is just peaking out of my price range but considering where i live (vancouver canada) is a steal.. we negotiated to 22,5. However being in the states i will have to pay duty and go through the hassle. The other is not the "pro".. older, a little more bare bones (electronics etc) and underpowered. 90% of the time i will be fishing the shoreline and once in a while a cramped overnighter or 15 miles offshore. What would you chose considering the year/model/price/motor etc.

Also if anyone else if more familiar with the 1902 i have heard they have poor lateral stability in side chop, anyone experience this? thanks guys

While you will have a higher up front cost, I think the 2009 will pay off in the end. When you take into consideration of anything you may want to add to the 2005 or any repairs that may be in the future I think you would make out better in the long run. As far as bringing it back home, see if he will bring down the price enough to cover your transportation costs.

IMHO both are over priced. Locally the 2005 would go @$10-12K, the 2009 @ $16-18K

A friend of mine just bought a loaded, 24' Grady White Offshore with a fresh 2004 250hp Evinrude for less than the asking price of the 2005.

I would agree with both of you that you can find more boat for less but not in the northwest and especially not here in canada... i have been looking at these sport fishers for a long time and work at a wholesale brokerage and see what they actually sell for and both these are way under book considering my location. The 09 does have a nearly new merc 9.9 kicker with electric start and trim - could try and work that into the deal as well though he mentioned he was putting it on his new/larger boat and was asking $2300 if he were to sell it.
