1987 Suzuki 2stroke 115 oil injected outboard.

So I don't have the engine alarm gauge. Unfortunately happened on the water and when I returned home, nada. As soon as I turned key, alarm sounds for one second and then about every 10 seconds while running for one second. Doesn't matter if in idle or gear or what speed. RPM limiter kicks in at a certain speed. I'm thinking seems like a low oil alarm, but my oil is full. I have had the alarm go off for a clogged oil filter (oil delivery problem) and was different as it would go off once I reached a certain speed and limit my RPM's. Engine was NOT hot, just ran out a few hundred yards, stopped and started back up 20 minutes later and had this alarm. I have a spare engine to swap parts if necessary, just want some feedback first about this distinctive alarm.

Thanks, Nate

Could be from the oil flow sensor. If you have had problems with oiling there could be a blockage preventing suficient oil flowing. The blockage could be at the sensor or after the pump. Of course it could be the pump itself. As I read it the switch closes when there is insufficient oil flow. This means if you diconnect the switch it should clear the fault, however you could do damage with low lubrication. For this test I would recommend running on a tank with 50:1 mix.
