help, evinrude motor

i have a evinrude motor that i know nothing about, the vin is 5524r-09177 could someone tell me what year it is and what horsepower it is and anything else you can tell me.. Seems to be a clean motor. I just bought it for 100.00 did i get ripped off or is this a ok price..

Hi eddrey<br />You have a 1962 5.5hp evinrude. As far as getting ripped off, that would be impossable. Because your the one who made the decision to buy it. The seller didnt have a gun did he? Depending on what condition the unit is really in is the true test. If the condition is good and you put another $150. in parts for a tune-up. I'd say $250. for a race ready motor would be a screaming deal.
