What year??? Johnson 30hp tiller. cant find anything like it anywhere. Called everywhere. Is it military or commercial. Its an all black outside, can send pics. electric choke and start. 22.5in shaft. has no model # plate anywhere and never did. I know how to read model numbers, I know the code. 22.5" is a "Y". Theres no model number with a "Y" for shaft length from the 1970's to present. I cant think this motor is a 2000 or newe. Nothing with "Y" in 30hp I should say.st dont know. Like I said it's an all black 30hp seahorse. Its a beast of a motor but I need to order parts. Any help clearing this up would make you the k ng master in my book. It basically doesnt exist!

Looks a lot like johnson 30 hp 1989.
Original colour is white.

No ID.tag??

Locate the engine number. The model number tag is on the top-outside edge of the clamp bracket. It is also on top of the swivel bracket housing (port or starboard). It is either a sticker or a metal tag. Many times there is a quarter-size silver piece with engraved numbers. The number may be worn or scratched off of older motors. In this case, look for the silver core plug on the powerhead with the model and serial number. If you have the original welsh plug (freeze plug) on the block (powerhead), check it for numbers and letters. "

yeah looks like any number of year 30 hp from the mid 80's to at least the mid 90's

comparing the starter and starter mount or carbs will help you when you look at them on shopevinrude .com

they have exploded views of the motors by years....certain parts change once in while, even though the over all appearance doesnt

I also vote for looking for a freeze out plus... one might have the serial number...which wont help you...but usually one freeze plug has the MODEL number

it will start with J30...XXXX
