Welcome, if it's a mercury ignition there is a good chance you can get a spare key from a mercury dealer.
They often have a ring with a bunch of keys on it. You try the keys until you find one that works.
That key will have a number on it that they will use to provide a spare.

The key number is on the switch itself, but the it must be removed from the control box to read it. If it's easier to take the boat to a dealer, as pointed out, they usually have a bunch of keys, and will try each until they find the right one, then order it for you...

You aren't being very clear. Lets see if we can make some sense.

The wires connecting the boat-side harness have been cut to the dash. The dash has the ignition key switch and other instruments.

You need to re-connect the harness to the ignition switch and instruments. Correct?

So you want a new boat-side harness or wiring diagram to piece the harness back together - Correct?

Is this motor replacing another Mercury motor?
