The boat is a Cobalt, It has two plaques on the rear. One reads Colbalt & the other reads USA. I don't know what year it is but the trailer is stamped 1972 so it may be that the boat is a 1972 as well. Anyways, where can I find the VIN/serial number for the boat? I looked all over & can't find it anywhere. Any help would be GREAT!

Here is a pic of what the boat looks like.

a 72 may not have any hin. it wasn't required till 73. my 72 trisonic has no hin either.... yer up against it for id by numbers i'd think.. if ya do have a hin. it may be generally found on the outside, aft starboard. my 75 has the hin molded into the glass just above the drive.....

Re: help finding VIN/serial number

Thanks for the reply, That may explain why I can find the numbers. Most boats that I have seen have them stamped into the rear fiberglass as you said. Not this one though.

One silly question, what does the (h) in hin stand for?

Re: help finding VIN/serial number

I found my info in two spots: 1. obvious on the back of the boat 2. underneath the gauge council I was working on some wires when I noticed the id number there also.
