A friend got a 25 Hp he thinks is an electric start, the serial number is either 08186689 or 0b186689. He said the second digit is blurry. Can the year and shaft lenght be determined from this number?<br /><br />Thanks
Looks like a 1987 per Serial Number: 0B186689 Model Number: 1025207<br /><br />Shaft length can easily be measured. Vertical distance from where is hangs on the transom down to the horizontal antiventilation plate just above the prop. Should be 15 or 20 inches.
An 87 Thanks, Is there any special stuff we need to know about it. All I know is that is does not start. I will have the motor here to check out on Monday.
