My doofas brother managed to put gas in the oil fill hole on our ski. Can I just siphon the gas out of the tank and put new oil in the tank and run,,or should I mix oil with the gas for a tank just to be on the safe side. Will the gas hurt the seals or o rings on oil pump.

Re: Help,gas in oil tank

Welcome to Iboats waterboy.

You should be fine, but please go ahead and tell us the make and model of your PWC.

YES. Siphon the gasoline out of the oil tank and replace with the manufactures recommended oil. You may want to add some oil to your gas (100:1 or 50:1) and run it easy until you can verify that your oil pump is working. You may also want to do this with a little bit of gas in the tank so that you do not have to be stuck with the gas once the problem is solved.

I am assuming you have not ran the PWC with the gas in the oil tank. Right?

I highly doubt the gas will hurt the gaskets and orings in the pump and oil tank.

Thanks for the quick reply commander. It is a 1998 Sea Doo Gtx I believe. No we did not run the ski.
