Picked this up for very cheap($10). Checked for spark and shot some ether in the carb and cranked it w/ my drill. It fired up and ran for a couple of secs. Removed carb and it is nice and clean inside. Getting to my thread title, someone removed the ID tag and I need help finding the mod # so I can hopefully locate fuel pump diaphragm and water pump parts. fuel lines are very brittle but I can work my way around replumbing them. LU seems to be in good shape, shifts to forward and reverse OK using vise grips on the shift rod. With a little luck maybe I can resurrect this old girl!!!
Any help will be appreciated,
Mike

Re: Help ID old Merc

just from the pictures, it's hard to exactly tell what year, post the model numbers for a more accurate reply, but it looks like you have an classic merc from the 60's. Probably 64-66 I think it's a Merc 60 - 6hp, but it could be the larger Merc 110 - 10 hp.

Check out the amoci.org

lots of old iron to be seen and learned about.

Thanks, I mentioned in my OP that someone had removed the ID tag. I'll check out the link to see what I can learn.
Thanks again,
Mike

Thanks, Faz. I'll start checkin' the parts places to see what I can find,
Mike
ps: the site said my message was too short, so I'll add this hoping it's long enough now.
