I can't seem to find any numbers on my OMC SeaDrive. The cowl is labeled as an OMC SeaDrive, 235 HP. Can't locate a model or serial #. Any ideas on how to identify the model??
Theres little covers on the side that bolt on. The exhaust covers between the heads bolt on as well as the water passage covers on the heads. Lots of covers and bolts. Loopers dont have any of those covers.
FYI to all interesterd the model # on the freeze plug is E235TXCOR. This tells me that the engine is an Evinrude, 235 hp, tilt/trim, 25" transom, 1985 model, it doesn't tell me anything about the SeaDrive unit and I can find no numbers on it anywhere. I did a search on Ebay for seadrive books, but no luck tonight. Anymore ideas where I can get a shop manual for the seadrive unit??
Ok. I have contacted www.outboardbooks.com and (at their recommendation) an outfit called Sea Way Marine who couldn't help at all. OB Books has a long list of manuals based upon the model # (E235TXCOR) but cannot tell me if they address the seadrive unit in any of the manuals. I have an Evinrude manual that covers the 235 motor so before buying anymore manuals and running the risk of it not including the seadrive unit I am hoping that some of you can shed some light on this. And, based upon Dhadley's description I beleive it is a cross flow. Any help out there with the seadrive manual issue????
Someone put a 235 powerhead on it. Its a 2.6 Sea Drive. The outboard manuals will address outboards only. While they are very similar the only manual that will completely cover the Sea Drive is a Sea Drive manual.
Thanks Dhadley, I kind of had a feelin that would be the answer. So the only problem now is finding the 2.6 Sea Drive manual. Anybody have any ideas as to where one might be found???
biloxiriver, I MAY be able to help you out some here. I have a 1984 model 235hp SeaDrive that is going to be converted to a regular outboard soon (only has 400 hours on it). I'll look to see if I have the manual (should be VERY similar to yours). If I have it, cover the shipping and it's yours.
SoLittle; I will try the google. Thanks.

Brian Tindall, that would be great, please see if you can find it. I see you are in Egg Harbor Township, NJ! I travel to EHT about 4 times a year on business; will be up there again in August, maybe I can treat you to an adult beverage on my next trip.
