I'm on the hunt for a baby king lower and stumbled across a lower online that has me confused

It is pictured in my first two pictures.

Seller says it came off a Big Block but doesn't know anything else.

It doesn't look like exactly like a Cobra or a King Cobra

Pictured in my last 2 pictures is what I believed to be the obvious visual difference between the two.

Anybody have any input?

#3 looks like a KC
The others are from a 5.0 or 5.7
The gears in the 5.0/5.7 are the same.
The upper is where the gears change.
The 3.0 2.3 have much smaller lower units.

If it has a shift rod, like all of the pictures seem to have, its a regular dog clutch cobra.

# 3 looks like the Baby King lower which is actually an OMC V8 outboard lower unit.

OMC 460 Baby King Cobra.jpg

Here's a pic, from my '88 OMC shop manual, I tried to post this in your thread on the bayliner site but the new soft ware there won't let me add attachments...
