I have an '86 Mon Ark with a 3.0 OMC and OMC outdrive. I have the motor and outdrive pulled to repair the transom. While out, a neighbor (who knows a lot more about this than me) suggested I change something and I don't know what it is.

He was looking at the motor with my brother-in-law (I wasn't there) and when he looked in the rear of the motor, through the bellhousing, he said to change the "hub" that the splined shaft from the outdrive goes into. It appears to be some kind of bearing that the shaft goes through to mate with the motor and is surrounded by rubber (according to my brother-in-law.)

I have 3 questions:
1) What is this part called?
2) Is it as straight forward as pulling the old one and pressing in a new one?
3) Most importantly, what should I expect it to cost?

Thanks, and sorry if this is a stupid question!
