It's kind of obvious that it is a conglomeration built up from a pile of bones (parts).

The power head appears to be a 1974. What parts do you need? And if it runs then why not just use it? As racerone said before there was not alot of changes in the parts. I have 4 of these motors 2 are running and 2 are in pieces. And they range 9 years between them but there was not alot of changes.

it runs fine but it leaks oil near the prop, dont get me wrong I like the outboard, but the only way to get parts for it would be through shipping, and the only place that I found selling the parts is a US website, trying to get the boat out asap to test it. I said above what parts are needed :)

The 1974 model did not have gearshift.-----The 1974 model had a seperate fuel tank.---Absolutely brilliant for someonbe to look at the parts manuals and say " I can do this "----Nothing wrong with the concept at all.

O-rings and seals may be had locally by dimension. Not sure if there are bearing supply houses in Australia/NZ as we know them, but if there are, they can likely set you up.

In North America the 4-horse switched from a remote tank to an integral tank for 1979. They switched to the style of tank that had been used on the European 4-horse since 1972 models. Shown is a grainy picture of a 1972 Evinrude MiniTwin (Johnson had the same in Johnson colours); shown as well are the 1979 Johnson 4 weedless & high thrust.

Yes, the decals on the tank that you are showing do appear to be 1986 or something around that time. I think the 4 only continued in North America in that form to about 1983 or 84; meanwhile a shiftable 4.5 horse with a twist grip throttle was being offered concurrently in the early 80s.
