Looking to purchase a new fish/depth finder for my '88 FourWinns I/O. I will be using it in shallow/fresh water (rivers/lakes). Which of the following would any of you recommend.

Garmin 160 -- 400watts(RMS), 200KHz, 160x160 pixels, $189 (-$25rebate) = $164

Raytheon L365 -- 300watts(RMS), Dual Frequency 50KHz/65degree and 200KHz/16degreebeam, 240x65 pixels, $189.05

Major difference is Frequency and pixels. Which would be better for my situation?

Re: Help me choose!

Thanks for your advice, sounds like the Garmin will be my choice. Any other thoughts.

Sloopy, what do you mean by a flush mount? Are you talking about the transducer?

I have garmin 160 blue unit. I would definately get the blue unit with the dual frequency transducer if you plan on using it in salt. :D

Re: Help me choose!

had an L365 on my old boat. cool thing about it is that the transducer/speed/temp were all one unit and used one cable. worked good except the big round pad button became sticky and would hold when i let go. i never got it dirty, man at west marine said he has seen that prob before. for that reason i wouldn't buy another.
