My 40 Mariner was running well and after moving house, a bad weather period, business trip etc, did not launch her 3 months. Now she just refuses to start. I still have the same fuel in the tank from 3 months back.. is this an issue yet? I checked the plugs and cleaned them. There is spark, checked this with a plug tester. I checked the fuel feed. The pipe is clear and the rubber primer bulb is delivering the initial charge of fuel. The battery is ok, delivering, turning the motor brightly. Also, checked it with an hydrometer, she's good.

I need help bad, all looks ok but she refuses to fire. Can anyone offer the next practical step(s) to solving this?

After you have tried to start her, have you pulled a plug or two? If the plugs are not damp/wet with fuel, you probably have a fuel/carburettor problem.

Lots of other threads on this subject in this forum, if you search around.

Go to "Outboard won't start" in Engine FAQs, deoncand.
