Help Me! I have a 40h/p Mercury Tracker

I have a 40 h/p mercury tracker engine. Engine was running fine then all of a sudden it bogged down and then died. It won't start now! A friend of mine said it was getting enough fuel but that it didn't have fire at the spark plug. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Jimmy

Is it a 2 cyl or 4 cyl 40HP

Its a 4 cylinder

Start by disconnecting the blk/yellow wire at the switch box to see if the problem is in the harness if that don't help heres the test for your system from CDI

Laddies Thanks for the help! Know you are going to find out how dumb I really am. What switch box are you referring too? Do you by any chance know of a site where I can download any manual of any type that can help me?
