help me id this motor

its a johnson 90,it was vro,and I've discovered water intrusion into #4 and maybe #3 cyl,there are no model #s in the usual places.The only distinguishable number is the little silver looks like aluminum insert on top of the block with the number R8175072 and some numbers stamped into the top of block 188891 2HN1 although the second 2 8s could be 6s.I need to order head gaskets and the gasket behind that flat plate between the heads just want to make sure i get the right parts.I searched water intrusion and i believe i'll replace the ehaust gasket first.

Well my 83 is non vro, 84 they went vro and 86 vro-2 was intoduced so it's either an 84 or 85.

does anyone have an exploded view of the lower cowl i broke the very bottom head bolt and i'm trying to get the lower cowl off

The R in the plug number means it is likely a replacement powerhead. Original powerhead would have the model and serial...

Ok i got the head off no visible defects in gasket but definite water intrusion ,can i reuse head bolts and where should look next to solve this water in #4 cyl?also what is the torque sequence for putting the head back on?

You can also get water intrustion in the exhaust chest, from leaking exhaust covers. Exhaust water leaks tend to affect the lower cylinders. Remove both inner and outer covers and replace the two gaskets.
