Help me name the Boat.

[1980Coronado]

Ok.....I've been thinking about this since last summer and I just can't come up with the right name.

Boat: 1980 Century Coronado 21. 454 big block 330 Hp.

Family: I'm a Mechanical Engineer, my wife is Med Tech (works in the lab). We have two children, daughter is in 6th grade, son is in 8th. My wife and I
both graduated from Purdue. We are a Christian family, and our kids go to a Lutheran school. I like to Scuba dive, my wife loves to travel.

I bought the boat last July 4th while my wife was working.....I called her and asked . Wasn't even looking to buy another boat, but I've always wanted a Coronado and there it was! Its my dads fault for pointing it out, it didn't even have a for sale sign on it. I noticed the boat when I pulled into the marina, but didn't give it a second thought with no for sale sign.

Anyway, I've seen people come up with some really creative stuff in threads like this....so go for it.

Make a family game out of it....have everyone come up with names themselves and put them all in a hat. Then sit down at the table and start picking names. I think a name for a boat has to come from no other but the family that owns the boat. It's too personal to have a name someone else picks.

I agree with TestEngr completely but I got to tell you the one that popped up immediately in my head was "Nauti Engineering"

lol, I like "Nauti Engineering" but maybe not for the happy christian family.

My wife made up the name for my boat, and it's still kind of "meh" even though it's a good name for it and we both know where the name came from. I still wish I thought of it myself, lol.

If this were upto my family there would be no name! So maybe we call it no name boat. I've been tryin to make this a family game all winter! They think I'm crazy! Nobody likes anything I come up with!

I've done some Latin names....nothin sticks...daughter liked Foobiehazzie.....wife thinks it sounds too much like boobie! I'm stuck.

I've seen people come up with some really creative stuff here....so keep em coming...

My son just came up with Down Time.....I like the scuba reference! Wife just told me to pick a name and reveal it to everybody when I get it done!

I read your other thread about how you wanted a Century from when you were a kid, and how this one came to be. I usually think up some pretty catchy names, but honestly, there seems to me only one that fits..."Destiny".

Maybe..."Fatherly Advice" with the double reference to The Father and the Bible, and the fact that your dad talked you into looking at it to begin with.

Ha....it was more like .....hey watch me make Mark buy a boat this weekend than it was Fatherly Advise! It was sport for him

Destiny sounds too much like a girl at the ballet if ya know what I mean!

Along those same lines we thought of Impulse and Someday Came. Man why is this so hard!

The MOST painless way out of this is to have a family meeting and let the member's of your family decide. It get's them involved and takes the pressure off you!!

The first name I came up with was Bazinga!....we both like the show Big Bang Theory....never even considered the whole 4th of July angle. Bazinga just didn't stick...too pop culture?

My family really has no interest in this naming thing....they think I'm obsessed!
