The prop that came on my boat is chipped on 2 blades pretty bad, and missing half a blade on the other. It's a 17 foot open bow tri-hull Imperial that is used mainly for fishing and pulling a tube around. I just swapped an 85 horse power head onto my 75 horse lower unit. Would a 17 be to much? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to props, this is the first one I've had to buy.

Without knowing the prop you have and the RPMs you were running at WOT.
It would be tough recomending the right prop.
The lower unit you have is probably/possibly a different gear ratio than needed for an 85hp.
Fill in the blanks.J

My '89 85hp Force has a 17 prop on it now, but it was on there when I bought it. Don't know if its correct or not.....That's my next project, wiring in a tach and seeing what WOT throttle is with the current setup.
