I'm just happy that I didn't have to pay $250 for a stator. I'm in the process of installing my tach now. I had a omc tach but the pointer fell off so I hooked up a yamaha tach. I set it at 6 poles and it was crazy. I know 6 poles is what a omc tach calls for but with this yahama tach you have to set it at 12 poles to get it to show right. This yahama tach was for a for a 3 cylinder 50 hp so you would think the poles would be the same.
