Okay... I have an older 1990 202 CC and I'd like to like to refresh a little and found this on Ebay. Why not start a new project???? My thoughts are....

The hull is bare (no nothing)
No trailer
I'd ruin my boat robbing it for rod holders to trim tabs etc, so all I can do is keep my trailer and my motor. Its an older Merc and I would sell to repower this boat.
Cost to re-power $5K
Need controls & electric
lots & lots off little stuff to buy for this project...

So............

I'd be killing my boat, saving my trailer and selling my motor & controls for $1200-1500... (My hull alone is not very desirable)

Your thoughts...?

I don't know what your current boat looks like, but for that kind of cash you could do some serious 'refreshing' on what you have, as long as you like what you have. Myself personally, I wouldn't be too quick to jump at it. Definitely a nice hull but I don't think it'd be worth it.

i would take a day trip to look at it . it is the basic hull, that you could rig the exact way you want it. there are plenty of trailers on CL.

My boat hull is ery dated and unless I fix the soft spots in the floor _ i wont be putting any more cash into the current hull. I'd like to go see it - May be I'll swing over there today... Its about 3hrs from me. I agree, its basic & bare... But you know when you get the itch - it needs scratchin'..!!

At least I am asking - i learned a ton from my current boat. My current boat was purchased to see if the family liked boating and we are HOOKED!! I'll post a pic this afternoon of BIG BLUE!! Thanks and I can handle the feedback & appreicate it!!

I called the seller and spoke with him... I'll try my best to meet with him on Friday to get a better view of the boat. He made mention of rub rail missing in places, light scratches here & there, and deeper scratches into the gel-coat. I can live with that - but I'd like to see the issues before I commit.

Ha... It may HELP me move on to another project boat, so in a way... YES, that might help.!!! If the price gets too high - I'll have to walk-away at some point.

Just mapped it out & its like 4hours each way.. Hmm.... What ta do - what ta do... I was thinking of going Friday, but I've got a busy weekend planned & 8hr round trip to eye-ball this hull seems kinda crazy. I guess I have a limited risk either way...

My current CC... She has been good to me - just can't pour any more $$$ into her... If I dont get this hull, I'll prob wait for the next one before I do any more to this boat. I got it as a project and with the help of this site got her on the water... Shame the two-stroke is so loud - modern 2/4 strokes purr in silence vs this beast...

Okay... Life is happening all around me... Pool pump just bit the dust!! I got a new one on the way...

Back to the boat: decided to NOT take the 8hr trip to see the hull today. My weekend plans are fixed so i will not be able to see the hull without buying it first - only 2 more days. Thats not the end of the world, but I'd rather see it... I'll keep you posted.

It was painful, but I let it get away.... $4300 was the final ebay selling price. May be the next one will be for me...

That's A LOT of money for a bare hull. I don't think you need to lose sleep over that.
