I have a 89' evanrude 150 on a 91' nitro 185. The thing is a mess. Let start with the basics. I will fire up out of the water fine and in the water fine but you put throtle to it and it dies(only in the water). I just did the carbs and fuel filter and did a little better but at the ramp is just a mess. Next thing is when i do get going once i hit the end of the no wake zone it spits sputters and then the moter comes up the spits again then this for a a hundred yards than it run again then ok for the rest of the day. The bulb does not stay hard do i have a fuel leak? Next which wire is the for the rpm gage. i cant check my rpms cause it dont work. next how much motor should be in the water. The center of the prop is 6 inches under the bottom of the boat. the reason i ask is the boat tries to stand up on en when it is running and i have to place someone on the front of the boat to get on plane. So i bough a hydrofoil to get on plain faster bad idea. sure get on plain fast but lost 25mph and the nose is so far down i is scary in rough water. m Please help i am 250 mile from a lake and would like to so some of the work myself.
