Help Montgomory ward sea king 10 Help

I just bought a montgomory ward sea king 10 model vwb-52110 it is in absalute mint condition.It starts on the first pull and runns great.I have looked online and have not heard very nice things about montgomory ward and I am a bit nervous.....could anybody please tell me something about this motor and/or montgomory ward.E-mail me at mikeandronda@juno.com.thank you.

Dont let anyone get to you, that is a great motor, I had the 15hp and put alot of hours on it. It was made by Chrysler, and yes they did have problems with their big motors, but their little motor would run with any of them. Parts can be hard to find, but www.fairwindsmarina.com is a good source, they will have anything you will ever need. Also Napa is a good place to buy parts, you just have to ask for their marine catalog. Just do your regular decarb and that motor will outlast you.

Hi Mike<br /> You SeaKing is a 1975 model. It was made by Chrysler Marine for Montgomery Ward. SeaKing is a Wards brand name. Several outboard manufactures built motors for Wards and other private brands. Whats making you nervous? You say your motor is running fine. Since your motor is basicaly a Chrysler an after market manual that covers the hp. and year will help you with maintaince and repairs. As long as you take care of your motor,operate properly, it is as good as any other motor. Don't get all worked up over some people opinions. After all most people that trash these products have never owned or seen one. I'll tell you another secret. If the fish were biting and they had no motor. If someone gave them a broke Chrysler,Seaking,Force or what ever. They would be right here on this board ask how to fix it. The biggest problem with your motor is you will have to work a little bit to get parts. Compared to an OMC model that you can get some parts just about any where.
