HELP needed ASAP

I have a 1983 evinrude 115hp outboard motor that showed signs of an electrical problem on the port side. At first i was getting no spark and i replaced both coils and the power pack. Now i have great spark when tested but the motor skips, and backfires. After pulling the plugs on the port side they are wet like there is no spark again? pulling the starboard side the plugs look like they should, not wet. I have 350.00 in parts and service right now, but trouble shooting this problem might put me over the edge, the compression on the four cylinders check out 105-115 with 10#'s between the lowest and highest. is it possible that the timing could be off, or possibly a carb problem> just need some advice on what direction to go in. I truely appreciate any feed back i may get. The blue fin are in and I'm stuck! thanks in advance for your help.

Have you checked all cyl again for spark witrh a spark tester?

Wet and dry plugs can mean many things.
Either one can be normal or problems, pending on situation.
Check for good spark first, then move on and check/service carbs.

Yea I keep going back to check the spark everytime i find the wet plugs, could it be a carb problem? When this first happened i was 15 miles out and buzzing right along when all of a sudden it was like a light switch, no power at all. full throtle 1/4 of the power gone. My imediate thought was fuel but it seemed to check out. i did put in a can of seafoam two trips prior, could it have a piece of carbon lodged in the carbs????What or how is a good way to verify carbs, steady spray, etc. without rebuilding them?

and I assume you find the spark the same for all cylinders? If so look to the carbs or fuel pump diaphram leaking. It never hurts to do a carb service on multi-cylinder engines, cause a lean condition can go undetected until its too late....

I am talking myself into this carb thing, the seafoam could have fouled something up! or like your post there may be a leak. I'll try pulling the air intake manifold off tomorrow and see what i see. thanks for the help!
