i bought a 1993 waverunner 3 , and you have to pour gas in the carburator to get it to run, and after it runs the gas out it dies, i checked the fuel check vave and you can't blow though either side is this my problem or is it something else thank you

Re: help needed!!!!

bypass the switch go from the fuel pump directly to the reserve pickup on top of the gas tank. Those selector switches cause a lot of problems when they get old

Re: help needed!!!!

it still could be varnished up
the check valve goes on your vent line, to keep a slight pressurization

Re: help needed!!!!

you may want to start with addressing the initial problem, bypass the fuel switch and see what happens, smell the fuel in the tank and see if it smells sour, after 3 or 4 months of sitting it should be drained and replaced with fresh fuel.
A heads up on the ski, those had a lot of aluminum impellers, if it hasn't been changed over to a stainless one you will be wanting to do that when you start riding, that has nothing to do with your problem with the fuel system but it's just a heads up to look at in the future.

Re: help needed!!!!

to bypass the switch run a fuel line from the fuel pump directly to the reserve pickup on the fuel tank.
for help on first time owner of a ski, read help for novice jet ski owners on this site http://www.pwcweekly.com/forum/index.php/topic,206.0.html
I also have a picture of an aluminum prop all corroded taken from a 93 wave runner posted in the jet boat section,
