How much weight did you have in the boat? How many people? How did you have the engine trimmed? Is all the gear that you have stowed in the back of the boat?

We really need a little more info before offering suggestions.

Could be the carbs. after looking into the prop, i would suggest a good carb cleaning.

This happened to me one time w/ my boat, ended up my drain plug was loose and a lot of water got in the hull, hit the bilge pump, got it cleaned out, OK, make sure drain plug is tight.

Have you checked your compression readings in all cylinders? How about your throttle linkage? Check for leaks in your fuel line/bulb etc. A vacuum leak in your fuel line will cause loss of power when your motor needs the flow but will not hinder start and idle.

More info- Does your motor have a canister type fuel filter/water seperator? If so, take the filter off and dump it out and inspect it thoroughly for trash/gunk or replace it. Water in the fuel seperator will do as you describe.
