View attachment 164502View attachment 164503I found looking at old boat pictures and restorations will show how it looked when new. What about the flooring? Here is a picture of my 1960 crestliner

Very nice tinny! Pictures are a great help.

My seats will be padded and covered in two one vinyl with pipping in my vision. She rides rough enough, or maybe my back side is just too sensitive, that cushions will be a welcome addition.

Flooring is a very good possibility. I saw another thread on here which a gentleman did a very similar floor. My wish list includes cleaning the floor and repainting with no slip paint, a nice white oak inner transom with cork backing, and marine grade exterior transom (painted?). It has a fake floor in the back with a small raised frame to keep the two fuel cans and battery in position which had been painted and looks to be original. I hope to have enough in a single sheet of marine plywood to make a new outer transom, rear floor, and three new seat backs, with hopes of finding a third set of brackets for the third/rear seat some day. The floor I would like to make from strips of teak wood and may incorporate some type of storage rack/holder in the bow for keeping anchor, ropes, bumpers, life vests and the like in an orderly fashion.

Here is a pic of a '58 that looks close. I also am in need of pictures of the correct AlumaCraft sticker for a '56. Here is a picture that may be close. Can anyone confirm it's the right one?1958 Deep C.jpgAlumacraft Decals.jpg

Re: Help on 1956 Alumacraft

Considering to attempt skiing behind the old girl or maybe tubing. I have 9 and 11 year old girls. At this time I have no hook points to the rear transom for towing. Are there any dos or don'ts when installing the brackets for this? My Deep C does have the self draining transom shelf.

Re: Help on 1956 Alumacraft

Hey thanks for posting the pictures, now I finally know what that goofing looking bracket mounted in the side of my boat is, it's for the back rest. Any chance you could add a picture of the back of the backrest? Thanks

MTH, Sorry it's taking so long to get pics on here. Traveling, then could not get on the site for a few days like it was shut down, now won't load my pics. Keep getting error messages. If for any reason you decide to eliminate the seat back brackets let me know. I would love to have a third seat back to add to mine. I removed the bolts that were used as a pivot and drilled out the holes slightly to accept the push pins. This allows quick removal of the seat backs when necessary. I did this so if I ever had to row I could remove the center seat back and sit on the center seat facing backward. If you just fold down the back and try to sit on the back in the down position it would damage it because it ends up resting on the cast aluminum braces. When I rebuild my seat cushions I am going to play with the design and seat back board height to see if I can improve on it. I'll keep trying to get the pics on here. Hope this helps.

Re: Help on 1956 Alumacraft

Are you using the attach pix at the top of the post window? There seems to be some problem with the iboats hosted pix (that's if you use that attach pix widget). Pix that I've viewed before as attachments are not showing up in some posts, just the attachment (image) code instead of the actual pix.

Photobucket seems to be working better (fine?)

thanks for the pictures, sorry they were such a hassle, as of right now I currently only have one of these brackets near where the driver sits, I don't even see holes on the other 2 benches for the brackets, I would like to find one more and install a backrest for the rear bench.
