Re: Help on 1956 Alumacraft
Very nice tinny! Pictures are a great help.
My seats will be padded and covered in two one vinyl with pipping in my vision. She rides rough enough, or maybe my back side is just too sensitive, that cushions will be a welcome addition.
Flooring is a very good possibility. I saw another thread on here which a gentleman did a very similar floor. My wish list includes cleaning the floor and repainting with no slip paint, a nice white oak inner transom with cork backing, and marine grade exterior transom (painted?). It has a fake floor in the back with a small raised frame to keep the two fuel cans and battery in position which had been painted and looks to be original. I hope to have enough in a single sheet of marine plywood to make a new outer transom, rear floor, and three new seat backs, with hopes of finding a third set of brackets for the third/rear seat some day. The floor I would like to make from strips of teak wood and may incorporate some type of storage rack/holder in the bow for keeping anchor, ropes, bumpers, life vests and the like in an orderly fashion.
Here is a pic of a '58 that looks close. I also am in need of pictures of the correct AlumaCraft sticker for a '56. Here is a picture that may be close. Can anyone confirm it's the right one?
