I'm new to working on outboards, but have some mechanical inclination, overall. I have a question about rebuilding carbs on my 92 Yammy Pro 50.

I've gone through the Seloc manual, and there seems to be nothing to adjust on these carbs once they are put back together with new gaskets and jets and such. Also, in referencing a few of the other posts here, there's talk about checking the vac cume and such, but again, the manual makes no reference. I know all there carbs are essentially hooked up together, with one connection to the throttle doing all the opening and closing. Should I then assume I'm ok to just "Plug and Play", per se, on the jets and such? The float looks permanently set inside, with no room for play.

I'm gonna take it in here in a few weeks to have the idle and timing advance checked out, I'd rather not pay the 80 bucks an hour for this if I can avoid it. Which I think I can, with the help of you fine folks!

Thanks so much!

Re: Help on Carbs

hello
carefully follow the lync and sync in your manual. on this motor you dont need a manometer to set the carbs. follow the manual closely and they will work. I usually turn the idle screw out 3 turns before doing my linc and sync and when its all done you can turn it 3 turns down and the idle speed will be very close.
good luck and keep posting
