I'm not that great at electrical, but I know that you need to know your max amp draw and calculate the wire size from there. If in doubt, go one size bigger. Look up Greg's Marine on Ebay. He makes leads of any length. I just ordered from him and they arrived in two days. They will be tinned marine battery cable with ends covered by heat shrunk tubing.

So 6awg isn't good?

I was told 6awg would be ok too.
So what is your current draw and how long is your positive cable and negative cable going to be? Without knowing those things you can't spec the size of the cable.

4ga is going to be $2/foot and 6ga will be $1.25/foot. Not talking a lot of money here.
