A second vote for the Premier here. Of course I could be a little bias!! The PTX package with the 225 Honda is just sweet!

I love the Honda Outboards. Very quiet and dependable. As others have said, Bennington if the budget allows, JC also makes a nice pontoon. I would test drive a few brands and models and buy the one that you like.

Look into a Manitou SHP. The premiers are junk! I run a 235 escapade as a ski boat with a tower at a marina i work at and the tower snapped in half and the pontoons are falling apart! They claim the the ptx package can handle turns but the lifting strakes ripped off the tubes and the welds holding the pontoons themselves to the deck ripped open.

So in short check out the SHP from manitou and put an Evinrude Etec on it. They perform amazingly! We currently have a 22' Manitou Encore with an Evinrude 225H.O. and it does 56mph.

Wow Bayliner!
What really bad luck on that Premiere! I looked at mine today and the lifting strake is welded both top and bottom the FULL LENGTH of the toon. I guess if the guy doing the welding was totally asleep you could "cold weld" them both on. Of course I am sure they took care of all of the repairs under warr.

I do like to run my Escapade 235 pretty hard at times but I do not spend the entire day "turning and burning". If I was looking for that I would have kept my 20' VIP Vallant with the 5.7 Mercruser, GPS 61MPH! I really do like hanging out in the Flexsteel Recliners even in the slip. My wife and I spent last Sat at the lake, we got there at 9:30 AM and did not leave the slip till bout 5:00 PM for an early evening cruse. Grilled some hamburgers and watched preseason football. GO VIKINGS! Of course about a 3rd of their team are former OU Players so that might have something to do with it! All in all we have greatly enjoyed the Premiere over the VIP.
