Help on the year!!!!

I need help on the year of my mercury 500, 50 hp i have no serial # on it. That i can find. on the side of the block the # is 27935 on the carb(i think) the model number is 4D-4. please help!

Is it the kind with 4 coils or 1 big coil and a distributor? If it has a distributor the S/N is stamped in the block above the distributor. It'll be a 7-digit number.<br />Eric

it is the one with one dis. the number is 2117296, is that the serial #?

That would make it a 1967 if you're in the US or Canada. What country are you in?<br />Eric

I AM IN THE US. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE YEAR OF THAT ONE. I ALSO HAVE ANOTHER ONE ALMOST THE SAME THING.
