Re: Help out a felw boater
I towed so many boats "in the old days" that I renamed mine Rescue 8 after a popular tv show of the day. Last year, I had problems with BOTH motors while crabbing on Alsea Bay. Blew my airhorn repeatedly (even SOS). Lots of boats out but no one paid any attention. Finally, someone came so close that I was able to hail them. When I asked for a tow, they said OK but asked if they could set their crab pots first. Naturally I said OK and when they returned I asked them if we could pull OUR pots on the way in. They said OK so we did and gladly gave them our crabs. There ARE good people out there. You just have to get their attention. And, unfortunately, many people don't seem to recognize a distress signal when they hear it.
