Help out a newbie please!

i just bought a 4.5 hp merc i belive it is around the late 70's. 4421649 (SN) i was wondering if it is a 2stroke or 4 stroke. and if its a 2stroke how much oil do i mix with the fuel??

help is very appreiated.

1976 is the year. I doubt it is a 4 stroke, but I'm not sure. oil mixture would be 50:1

Any of the TCW 3 rated oils will be fine. Personally I get mine at wal-mart.

Merc offered no 4 strokes in '76, Sean. You have a 2 stroke.
