I have a 91 Johnson 200 tx and have lost all power to the engine & trim, I do think it is the main power fues but I can't find it, any help in locating it would be greatly appreciated, hate to take it in over a silly fuse. Thanks , Dan P

DFP..... Locate the main "RED" electrical plug at the engine. A short distance back (towards the engine side) you'll see a wire exiting the harness that leads to a small "RED" plug. That is the main fuse holder.

caution check that fuse . you can tell a lot by how the fuse looks.ie a glass fuse that has blown and
looks black and silver on the inside is the cause of a dead short. look inside a fuse that was over
loaded and the metal will look like it was just pulled apart. i learned this after years of trouble shooting
fire alarm systems . you can go through a box of fuses looking for a dead short on a moving part.

Yo catfish
next time you troubleshoot a burnt fuse condition, simply use a headlight to act as a fuse. Install it where the fuse connects(use jumper leads). Start wiggling wires and turn on accessories until the light burns brite. You've then found the short, and no burnt fuses.....
