Welcome to the boating community.
You should get a engine manual to determine what is the proper mixture. And while you have it, read it.
Take a carefull look at the entire boat. What sort of shape is it in ? Is it save to take your family out on ? (not counting my brother). Based on where you are going to use it, how far you are gonna run, what is the depth. . . . .
What can be done to make it better, easier & safer ? I think that is the afflection that we all have here.
Keep asking questions, there are alot of good folks here that really know their stuff. . ..
