changed up the title a little
I took my power head off tonight...what a pain...200 lbs of torque for 2-3 " of screw X 6!!!!
yuk
thank the lord for a cheap electric impact gun.
now onto the current proble,
under the power head ther is a dual rubber mount...that the steering arm base had been attached to...
this mount seems to have been held onto the power head, by one long bolt through the middle.
well i took it out and the mounts dont seem to want to move...
they look like steel encased rubber, because the out layer seems to be crumbling..( steel part)
it is such a corroded mess under the power head..it is hard to figure what is what at this point
so i am asking for a tip to pull that rubber mount off...
I am taking the power head to work to machine off the lower crank housing bolts...whose heads have rusted into oblivion..
a note to all you who think it is easy to rebuild a motor....
if it has ben in salt water use...you are in for a series of head aches
I broke two of the small power head bolts..
but the corrosion( on seemingly a nice looking motor) is a big obstacle to the do it yourselfers!!!
I needed a torch to take the big power head bolts out!!
thanks
