Hi just bought an old boat (1970 ish) a Brentsal cabin cruiser 17ft.
i have a 25hp suzuki dt motor 1989 i think. no electrics on boat but would like to fit depth meter lights and auxillary plug( cigarette lighter) but need help with basic diagram. Have two wires from motor believe these go to battery no electric start on motor good old pull start.would need diagram and help starting at motor finishing with working lights etc.
Second issue have got an old Incastic Maxi-Depth depth finder anybody got instruction for this it has 3 power cables in sleave brown blue and green/yellow what goes where.

I would make sure what the two wires are for, it may be some form of alarm. You would blow something if you connected to a battery and it was not for that purpose. May want to see if they have 14v across them when running.

I am not an expert in the outboards, but it would not be impossible that there is likely not a charging system.

You could run a fish finder all day long on a standard battery, just re-charge it when you get home. You would not need to connect it to the motor for charging.
