so fast forward 4 years, is the Maine registration and titling thing still feasible? In 2007 I bought a boat and trailer from TN, no tag nor title on trailer from that State, then Illinois DMV suggested I call it homemade and I promptly got my plates and title and new VIN from DMV (old sticker faded). Well this summer I got a boat and trailer from MI, trailer had a plate but no title as they don't require, now I'm advised through this forum I can't go the homemade route and I'm SOL in Illinois - I paid the Dept of State of MI $9 to tell me they had no record of any VIN for this trailer nor any record of the licensing at all since they purge their date after 4 years and the sticker on the plate is from 2001. I'm next door to IA is that a possibility for registering and titling my trailer that only has a BOS and no title? Thanks!
