i have a 86 classic 50 45horse i put a new trigger on it today because the white wire with the black stripe on it had rotted and turned green. got the new one on and saw the old one had the white/blk stripe, brown, white, and purple. the new one had a black wire not a white/blk stripe wire. do i put the black wire there or do i need to send it back???
the purple and brown are no brainers but the other two i am not sure of
new part number is 96452A 4

Re: trigger

Re: trigger

It is probably the same trigger with a different wire color, however not knowing the manufacture or the part number I would suggest checking at the point of purchase

That is the proper number for your engine if it was in a unopened box or has the number stamped on it use it by simply swaping the colors
