help v4 crossflow 1973 115 quits when put in to gear

[[/B][/]hey i have a v4 115 crossflow runs good at idel and if i can get into gear fast and goose it it will run fine untile i put into nuteral then come back into gear it dies every time needel stuck up; water in gas ,coil ???????

oh yes this new i know my motor fairly well all of the sudden kinda thing

for some some backround somehow i got little peices of stones in my floats took the carbs apart cleaned them re assembeled them all was well then all the sudden now it runs fine until i put it into gear if i can do it fast enough it will run fine in gear its just the first couple of seconds of being in gear

Sounds like either you didn't get everything out of there, or else the problem that caused there to be trash in your carb bowls is still letting trash in. Do you have a fuel filter inline as the last piece before gas hits your motor?

no i have the filter on the motor before it goes it the carbs i assume one in the tank last night i took it all apart again took out the needle and seat sprayed the hell outa them in both carbs with carb cleaner put it all back togther and wouldent you know it the top carb stuck open again if a in line filter is in order i can make that happen. i was just scared it was something way more serious also real tough to cold start without starting fluid andkinda steams after full throttle for 5 minutes stops steaming when i come back down to idle just wanna give you the full backround

ok so now i have put a in line fuel filter cleaned the carbs ounce again removed the prop to check for line or ropes all seems fine can start in neuteral rev as high as i want it will idle as soon as i put into gear it dies time after time dies instantly i have no idea
