i just bought a boat, trailer, motor combo. the boat and motor "were" suppost to be bad. bought it for the trailer. the motor has been stored for two yrs w/ fuel in it. i took the bowl off and cleaned out the crud, took the plugs out and cleaned them re installed everything, pulled thr rope and, it ran like a top. i used 32:1 gas and cut off the fuel and i was wondering if anyone has any info on this motor.<br />model 4904d<br />serial e0002623<br />wondering mix, gen maint, ect....<br />thanks in advance<br />love mike

looks a 1979 I think it should be 50:1

These engines are pretty bullet proof. I just ran one that my brother in law sold me with the runabout that I purchased from him. It was kind of thrown in the deal. My model is a '74 and probably had not run in 20 years, but fortunately was stored inside. After doing the similar things as you, it started in 2 pulls and runs sweet. Nice engine.<br /><br />Jeff
