HELP!! What year is this Evinrude 85HP?

I need a starter motor for my 100hp 1972 Starflite 100293R and have been offered this:

It's hydro electric shift (Which I thought stopped in 72) but the seller told me it went through until 74 and the ignition setup also looks different to my 100HP.

I've asked the seller for model numbers but the transom bracket is missing, then asked for the part number off the starter but the motor is lying on it's side atm so he can't see it apparently.

Does anyone know what year that motor is??

can't help with the year...but if your buying it JUST for the starter....be careful...it doesn't look like it has much life left..and it's too much money for a old starter anyway
WHY is he relisting it?

Hey mate was also going to buy it for the rectifier along with spares incase anything on mine breaks.

Think I'll call him and tell him not to worry about it, he seems to be relectant to give me any part numbers.

The last year for the hydro-electric shift was 72. That powerhead is definately a 72 or older (69-72).

If I ever sense anything iffy like that I would walk. Sounds schetchy.
