Help who makes a "STRIKE 1"

Hi to all,
I bought a boat last year and cant identify who makes the boat. Theres no cap. plate anywhere on the boat. The only name or writing on the boat is STRIKE 1. Its a 14 foot bowrider that came with a 1990 70 Hp Johnson VRO. I would asume that the boat was made some time around then as it looks like the only motor that was ever put on it. It was also never registered as it was on a private lake that wasnt enforced. I cant seem to post pictures now but i will try again later.

Welcome to iboats!!

Your boat may never be identified due to the age and number of people that have been building boats.

HOWEVER If it is a 1974 or newer there will be (should be) a Hull identification Number (HIN) on the stern (usually on the outside of the hull) either attached or molded into the boat.

The very first three characters (numbers and or letters) are the Manufacturer Identification Code and the last two digits are the years built.

If you can find the HIN then is it a simple look-up on the USCG site to tell us more information.

Post a photo of this new to you boat Someone here may have it's twin.

Well thats great news because i recall a number stamped into the stern of the boat.
The boat is actually all tarped up now so it might be a few more weeks before i pull it out. I hear that easter wekkend is when everyone pulls there boat out but i think im goin to wait awhile longer. Although 24 degrees is awsome weather this time of year.

Well I finally got her out to get the hin. The last two numbers were 89 so I asume it was made then.
So how do I go about running the number to find the company that made the boat? I am missing the
cap plate too. I was told I would be able to get a new one from them, is this true?

The first three digits of the Hull Identification Number is the manufacturer code called the MIC then look it up here http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic1.aspx

Well it turns out my boat was made by Sunray out of Quebec. They went out of business in 2003, so how what I go about getting a capacity plate?
