So i have this motor and it hasnt been started in a while. I cleaned out the carb and fuel lines. Any other ideas on why it wont start? I cleaned up the spark plug also. Any good shops around the dallas area that wont rip me off if i take it in to get worked on?

hi bradb511 are you getting a spark and is fuel fresh, you cant see a spark to easy on a 3.5 i used a 240.v screw driver put in end of ht lead plug and give it a pull on starter cord you should see your screwdriver glow if that is fine disconnect kill switch and try to start it some times the switch gets sticky it stops full power going to the switch box that the ht lead is connected to . Do you have a manual if not must get one to keep you safe welcome bradb511

ok i got the thing started now i just dont have any idea how far to back out the air and fuel screws. It is running very rought and wont start up unless i spray some of the starter stuff in the carb. Anyidea how many times i need to back out those screws?

well i dont recommend you use the starter sprays as these can ruin the engine as these sprays have no oil in them
a good overhaul of the carb may help actaully cleaning it all manually and also try a new spark plug making sure the gap is correct
